Central Fla. Gun Show Report...
Just got back from the local (Melbourne, Fl.) Gun show and I thought I'd give a brief report on whats going on in my neck of the woods. The crowd of buyers was down in volume from the last show I went to just after the election. Plenty of EBR's of all flavors at the usual inflated prices. The CCW class was PACKED as usual. More important, there was plenty of ammo and reloading components available at the going inflated Obama rate. I managed to score a sealed case of M67 Yugo 7.62x39 for $375 otd. Other popular loads like .38/.357/.45 was running $20-25 a box of 50. I really wanted to load up on some .22LR Bulk Paks but there was only like 5 boxes of Remmy 550 boxes and they were like $32 a box or thereabouts. All in all, not to bad of a day for me. Yup, I managed to grab the ONLY case of 762x39 that was to be found, PERIOD (and for an Excellent price!) I do beleive this case of M67 will be worth a ton of dough not too far down the road... Go Lead/Go Brass :ok::ok::ok:

voodoo,
No offense. Glad you picked up the case you got. But it literally SCARES ME when people get 'the only case of 39' and consider $375 otd a GOOD PRICE. Yah, I know. You can't FIND IT in most places. AT ANY PRICE. But damn man, $25 short of $400 a case? And people called me a 'fear monger' when I suggested they buy cases of 39 ammo when it was $140 SHIPPED. just sayin... |

$32.00 for a 550 round box of 22lr? Damn, doesn't Wally World still sell those for 15 bucks? |

Re: Central Fla. Gun Show Report...
Is that a 1000 round case? Right now you can still get 1080 round cases of the 5.45X39 for $179.00 delivered. That'll be the next caliber to hit the roof I'm sure.

Re: Central Fla. Gun Show Report...
You're lucky then...I just got back from a gunshow and there was basically NO AMMO TO BE HAD AT ANY PRICE. This is the first time in my life that I've been to a gun show (and I got there when it opened) that there were NO ammo vendors and none of the other vendors had any ammo either (other than an odd box here or there of something that looked to be left over from the last Great Depression but asking current inflated prices for new stuff).
Also, there were almost NO surplus rifles either. A few Mosins at $190 ea and one guy had a $450 Yugo SKS, but that was it. On a good note though, I left there and stopped by Gander Mountain and scored. They had 30 carbine in stock!!!! I picked up 5 boxes at $30/ea. Interestingly, they also have had 1/2 pallet of Federal 5.56 1000 rd boxes for $499/ea for several weeks now. Now if I could just find a CZ-52 and some small rifle primers.... |

Re: Central Fla. Gun Show Report...
At a recent Orange County, California gun show, we waited about an hour just to buy tickets. Ammo sellers had lines like I've never seen. The previous show at the same location was very different, and that was only a few months ago.
It used to be mostly dudes. But this time it was Joe and Jane Sixpack, lugging carts of ammunition home. We're told that these folks are worried about Obama's anti-gun policies, but it sure seemed to be more than that. Many gun dealers spoke of a rush of first time gun owners...including little old ladies buying their first firearm ever. We are told they are worried about a gun ban. But it sure seemed like they were worried about something much more direct - like a breakdown in social order. The good news was that there were a lot of young hot chicks at the gun show. The better news is that many were walking around with revolvers and cases of ammo. It might be worrisome, but it was also hot as hell. |

Or they are afraid "the man" won't be able to protect them if TSHTF...
If that happens a LOT of people are going to be really disappointed when they dial 911....they will finally see the light just before they see the light if you know what I mean |
Re: Central Fla. Gun Show Report...
Voodoo,
Reminds me of when a hurricane is expected to hit your area. ALL the home improvement stores and all the grocery stores are stripped of almost everything useful. And some even stripped of things I couldn't even think of a use for. So, the gun show is the new place for watching all the girls go by... I think there's a song in there somewhere. It's coming. Like a hurricane on an unknown path out in the Atlantic. YOU KNOW it's gonna hit shore. You just don't know when. You just don't know where. And when you do know? So does everyone else. And the buying frenzy begins in earnest. That's what it reminds me of. |
